April Favorites!

Hey Everyone! Sorry i haven't posted in a while, i've kind of been in a rut. Today i decided to try something new and film a video instead of writing on here. I feel that it's easier to describe what i'm talking about that way. So let me know what you think and you can give me some suggestions of other videos to make or things you would like me to post about on here! Always feel free to comment, I'd love to know what you all think. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and i'll start posting more often :)

Spring Favorites!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Easter! :) I figured since it's Easter, today would be the perfect time do show you my favorite beauty products for spring! I am so excited that the weather is getting warm and im getting a tan! My favorite thing about having tan skin means that i don't wear foundation since my skin clears up and has some color. So here is a list of my favorite beauty products for spring and why :)

  • MAC eyeshadow quad in "Call me bubbles" - I like this quad because of the fun bright colors but they aren't too crazy. I like to wear just a little bit of the pink or orange on my lid and do a neutral color in the crease, or i like to do a light neutral color on the lid and use the darker pinky bronze one in the crease. This quad was limited edition, but you could definitely find dupes for these colors. I think they are just great for spring, and summer too.
  • Bare Minerals eyeshadow in "Nude Beach" - I think this is such a great eyeshadow to wear all over the lid by itself when your in a hurry or if you don't like a lot of color on your eyes. It is a light taupe champagne color with tons of sparkle. I think it is just a gorgeous color.
  • Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer - I like to use this just on my cheek bones and a little on my cheeks. It just ads that little bit of sun kissed glow and looks great under your blush or by itself.
  • Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder - Since i don't use foundation in the spring and summer i still need something to keep the shine away. This powder is very light weight, almost translucent. I just apply this to my T zone to keep from looking too shiny.
  • Sonia Kashuk Blush in "Flamingo" - This is a very bright pink blush. If you use a very light hand it ads the most beautiful pink glow to your cheeks. Especially over the Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer.
  • Victoria's Secret Illuminating Face Powder in "All or Nothing" - This is a shiny rose/peach color. This one is hard to explain except for that it is just a beautiful color. You can use it as a highlight or it even looks great on your cheeks as a blush. This is a must have for spring and summer. It just adds that perfect sun kissed look like you were at the beach all day.
  • Loreal Infallible Lipstick in "Summer Rose" - This is a beautiful bright pink, but not too bright. I like to wear this when i'm not wearing much else on my face and eyes. This lipstick would look great on almost every skin tone since it's not very bright.
  • Essie Nail polish in "Sand Tropez" - I am in love with this nail polish! Its a nude but on the tanner side. It's just a must have for any season but i have been wearing it a lot lately.

How to.. Ombre Hair

Hey Everyone. I loooove the ombre hair look that you probably have seen lately on a lot of celebrity's such as Drew Barrymore and Lauren Conrad. Well the other day i went out on a whim and randomly decided to do it to myself. The process was actually very easy & cheap! I just went to Sally's Beauty Supply and asked the guy working what i should use to ombre my hair. He told me what to use and gave me some helpful tips that i will share with you guys. All of my supplies came to a total of $9 and some change!
  • First i brushed out my hair so it was nice and smooth with no tangles.
  • Then i cut a hole in the bottom of a trash bag for my head and put it on like a poncho (very attractive)
  • Next i parted my hair where i usually part it then brought the 2 sides to the front
  • Next i  put the dye on about 3 inches of my hair from the bottom. I just basically painted the dye using a hair dye brush i bought for $0.75. and then i flipped the section over and painted the other side on the same 3 inches. You want to make sure your hair is very saturated in the dye.
  • Next i just did the same thing to the other section of my hair and waited about 7-10 minutes depending on how light you want it
  • After the 10 minutes, i applied the dye about 2 inches higher than the first application.
  • After i finished applying all the dye i ran a wide tooth comb through the areas with dye on them.
  • Let sit for another 10 minutes or so.  *The dye will look lighter on your hair than it actually is when you rinse it, so don't be scared when it looks bleach blonde!!!*
  • After the 10 minutes is up, i just brushed on the rest of the dye a little above that and let it sit for another minute, just to get that faded effect.
  • Then i rinsed my hair with conditioner. I did not use shampoo.
  • After i rinsed, i applied a liberal amount of Moroccan Oil (you can use any sort of leave in conditioner or Argon oil) just so my hair doesn't look so damaged.
  • Then i blow dried and styled and your all done! :)
I will put a picture of the hair dye i used since i'm not exactly sure what its called. I just used what the man told me. :)

Skincare Routine!

I have very sensitive, combination skin and ALOT of face washes and products make me break out in pimples and/or a rash! I know, Gross! No one wants a rash on their face. After trying many products i ended up going back to the same thing every time. Neutrogena Grapefruit scrub and face wash. I go back and forth using these in the morning. As for my night time skincare i use my Clarasonic Mia with Cetaphil Gentile Face Wash. I got my Clarasonic a few months back for Christmas and i wanted it so bad and was so sure it would clear my face up instantly. NOT! It broke me out in huge cystic acne and i figured out it was because i was using it with an acne wash, not to mention the winter air was drying my skin out really bad, but the acne wash was really harsh on my skin with the scrubbing it dried it out and was stripping my skin. I took a break from it and let the acne clear up (with the Neutrogena) and since then i have been using it with the Cetaphil. I use it only a couple nights a week and it has been making quite a difference with my blackheads (ew) and pores. So if you use a Clarasonic or something similar and have had the same problem, maybe you should switch to a gentile cleanser instead of an acne wash. Anyways, thats what i use for my skincare routine. Let me know what you use and what kind of skin you have because i am still on the search for the PERFECT skin care products, if thats possible. :)

Favorite Bronzers!

As well as blush, I think that bronzer is equally important. It can warm up your face and also shape it if you contour. I think a good bronzer is a staple item in anyone's makeup collection because it is really hard to find good ones. Some are too orange and some are muddy looking. Here is a list of my favorite bronzers and i'll have have a post soon about contouring! So stay tuned :)

Chanel - Soleil Tan De Chanel- Cream bronzer & Smells like peaches!
Tarte- Park Avenue Princess Bronzer- has slight shimmer
NYC- Sunny - Peachy/brown matte bronzer (and only $3.99!!)
Benefit- Hoola- Darker matte brown bronzer

Go Blonder?

I'm just going to start out by saying, i know i am not blonde! But i use these products to keep my highlights bright and keep them from getting dull and brassy as well as blending my roots. All of these products by John Frieda are very affordable and are found at any drugstore. These are great great great products and keep my hair looking nice and beautiful. :)
  • Let's start off with the John Frieda Go Blonder Spray. This doesn't completely change your hair color but it DOES blend your roots wonderfully. To use, you spray this on your hair when damp and blow it dry. The product works with the heat to change the color of your hair. I usually spray it on my roots and i can go much longer with out getting them touched up!
  • Next is the John Frieda Purple Shampoo. This shampoo is PURPLE. It is used to neutralize the brassiness in blonde hair or highlights. I wouldn't recommend using this everyday because your hair will start to get a purple tint to it. I use this every other day, switching with the next shampoo.
  •  Last but not least is the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Shampoo. Basically this is just a shampoo for blonde hair. Although i don't have blonde hair it does keep my highlights nice and bright.
